Our Services
After the termination of parental rights, there is minimal assistance available for parents. In order to achieve our objective, we aim to establish a support group led by peers on a weekly basis. This initiative will provide parents facing similar circumstances with the opportunity to rely on one another for support and guidance.
When conversing with the families I have assisted, the process of reunification brings about various challenges in terms of readjustment. Following the return of children to their homes, additional hurdles arise, such as a lack of trust in the parents. Furthermore, it is common to hear that the information conveyed to children leads to a sense of mistrust towards the parents, exacerbating the feelings of separation. The dynamics shift once more as they readjust to their family and home, now with the added layer of trauma. Peer-led support is available through weekly support groups. Our ultimate goal is to provide child care services, allowing our little ones to form friendships of their own.
We provide aid to young individuals who are in the process of transitioning from foster care to living independently. Our range of services encompasses connecting them with counseling, training them to become life coaches, and assisting them in accessing essential resources such as housing, education, and employment. Additionally, we aim to establish weekly support groups led by peers of the same age to provide further support.
We offer support to bio families who may be struggling with a variety of issues related to parenting and family dynamics peer support groups help families work through conflicts, improve communication, and build stronger relationships. We are in hopes of also having a weekly peer support-led support group.
Support for Adoptive Parents
Adoptive parents frequently face difficult challenges as their children grow older. Studies show that children may eventually yearn for their biological family. Therefore, there is a need for a supportive environment to address these specific challenges. I envision establishing a peer-led support group for adoptive parents.
